Shower

BASIC TASK

Shower

What you need:
​- Microfibre cloths
- Sponges
- Grout brush
- Squeegee
- Multipurpose spray
- CLR (to be used ONLY on the glass and tiles inside the shower, NEVER on metal surfaces)
- Exit Mould / bleach (toxic products: read the label before using)
- Jif
- Windex

IMPORTANT
If the surface is natural stone (granite, marble, cesar stone) use only hot water or hot water + soap (sugar soap, dishwashing liquid, Earth Choice). Don't use Jif, Methylated spirits or any other chemical on any of these surfaces. If you're not sure if it's natural stone or not, use only hot water + soap to be safe.

​Cleaning process:
- Remove shower mat and put it in a safe place
- Remove all cosmetics and cosmetics holders from the shower
- Dust off and wipe tops of shower walls
- If calcium is present on shower screens and tiles, wipe all surfaces with a wet cloth and CLR
- Make sure CLR is spread evenly on all surfaces
(to be used ONLY on the glass and tiles inside the shower, NEVER on metal surfaces)
- If mould is present, spray all mouldy areas with Exit Mould
- Leave chemicals to react (CLR: Max 3 mins / Mould killer: Up to 15 mins) (you can apply and remove CLR up to 5 times for better results).
- Start scrubbing tiles, soap holder, cosmetics holders, shelves with a wet sponge and Jif
- Scrub grout with Jif and grout brush
- Scrub taps with a cloth / sponge and Jif (warning: some kinds of metal may be permanently scratched by a sponge. Start scrubbing carefully)
- Start wiping shower screens with a wet cloth and Jif
- If necessary, scrub screens with a sponge (warning: some kinds of glass may be permanently scratched by a sponge. Start scrubbing carefully)
- Wipe all surfaces with a clean wet cloth to remove all chemicals
- Repeat the wiping with clean wet cloths until all surfaces are clean off chemicals
- Pour water to remove remaining chemicals
- Remove water from surfaces and recess with a squeegee
- Polish tiles with a damp cloth and multipurpose spray
- Dry tiles with a dry cloth
- Spray Windex over shower screens inside and outside
- Scrub / wipe screens with a wet cloth / sponge
- Squeegee down the water off glass
Dry corners with a dry cloth
- Polish metal taps and other pieces with a dry cloth and some Windex

​Tips:
If the grout is still dirty and silicon black from mould after many attempts, you need to tell the client that the shower needs regrouting and sealing.

To make a nice impression on the client, remember to clean all details:
soap holder, cosmetics shelves, rubber shower mat, even wipe cosmetic bottles.
