Tile and Grout

BASIC TASK

Tile and Grout

What you need:
- Microfibre cloths
- Sponges
- Grout brush
- Squeegee
- Multipurpose spray
- CLR (toxic product: read the label before using)
- Exit Mould (toxic product: read the label before using)
- Jif

IMPORTANT
If the surface is natural stone (granite, marble, cesar stone) use only hot water or hot water + soap (sugar soap, dishwashing liquid, Earth Choice). Don't use Jif, Methylated spirits or any other chemical on any of these surfaces. If you're not sure if it's natural stone or not, use only hot water + soap to be safe.

Cleaning process:
Bathroom:
- If calcium is present on tiles, wipe all surfaces with a wet cloth and CLR
- Make sure CLR is spread evenly on tiles
- If mould is present, spray all mouldy areas with Exit Mould
- Leave chemicals to react (CLR: Max 3 mins / Mould killer: Up to 15 mins)
- Start scrubbing tiles and skirting tiles with a wet sponge and Jif
- Scrub grout with Jif and grout brush
- Wipe all surfaces with a clean wet cloth to remove all chemicals
- Repeat the wiping with clean wet cloths until all surfaces are clean off chemicals
- Pour water to remove remaining chemicals
- Polish tiles with a damp cloth and multipurpose spray
- Dry tiles with a dry cloth

Kitchen:

Tip:
If the grout in the shower and silicon are still dirty after many cleaning attempts, you need to tell the client that the shower needs regrouting and sealing.
