Chapter 1: Getting Ready for Work / Mobile Phone Usage Guidelines at Work

Our clients pay us by the hour, it’s important that we remain focused while cleaning to respect their time and investment
We ask that you limit personal mobile phone usage during work hours unless it’s an emergency. If you do need to take a call or address an urgent matter, please inform us so we can explain the situation to the client if necessary.
We trust you to use your common sense in managing your phone usage.
To help guide you, here are a few basic guidelines:
✅ What’s OK:
🎧 Listening to music/podcasts: You may listen to music or podcasts if the client isn’t present or engaged with you (e.g., if they’re in another room or working in their office). Please ensure the volume is low enough so that only you can hear it and remain aware of your surroundings. For example, consider using one earphone or adjusting the volume to be alert to your environment in case the client returns or interacts with you.
💬 Communication with the office: If you need to communicate with the office via WhatsApp, please keep your messages brief and to the point. Avoid long texts, voice messages, or videos. Additionally, try not to text when the client is present whenever possible.
🚫 What’s NOT OK:
📞 Phone and Video calls - Making personal phone or video calls during work hours is unprofessional.
📲 Social Media or Scrolling: Using your phone for social media, watching unrelated videos, or anything that distracts from your work is not acceptable.
🔊 Loud Notifications or Sounds: Please ensure your phone is on silent to avoid disrupting your work or the client’s space.
